PATIENT SAFETY (NOTIFIABLE INCIDENTS AND OPEN DISCLOSURE) ACT 2023

THE PATIENT SAFETY (NOTIFIABLE INCIDENTS AND OPEN DISCLOSURE) ACT has now come into operation by virtue of SI482 of 2024 on the 26^th September 2024.

In the event that a NOTIFIABLE INCIDENT occurs under the terms of the PATIENT SAFETY ACT the healthcare provider MUST:

1. Tell the patient or their family of the mistake and
2. Explain and apologise to the patient or their family
