Patient Safety

In recent years there has been some significant national coverage relating the Patient Safety Act and when the Patient Safety (Notifiable Patient Safety Incidents) Bill was introduced in 2019 it was hailed as a milestone in Ireland’s Healthcare System, aiming to ensure clinicians fully inform patients of serious safety incidents.  The historical position prior to the enactment of the Patient Safety (Notifiable Incidents and Open Disclosure) Act 2023 which can be set out on the attached link.
